JustMe7759- You re-read the whole thing??? Well, wow- thanks. I was worried that there weren't even people out there still reading. Should be wrapping the story up soon; then I will be able to concentrate on other stories.

Chapter 28-


Scorpio Home

It was two in the morning and young Dillon Quartermaine Hornsby had come to the conclusion, that his Grandma Lila was right. He had to tell Georgie how he felt, how he had felt since the first moment he laid eyes on her. She had to know she was the one.

Young film maker that he was, he thought of the perfect setting. He would climb the tree outside her window and rap at her window frame, and when she answered in her white night gown, he would announce his everlasting love for her. So it wasnt Cary Grant or Boogie in nature but it was the best he could come up with in so short of time frame.

So he climbed the tree and he knocked on the window pane, but to his surprise it wasnt Georgie who answered but a willowy blonde woman he had never seen, she was beautiful with big blue eyes and a brow set in a perplexed frown she looked like a young Grace Kelly, and when she said loudly Who the hell are you? All hell seemed to break loose, Mac bellowed his name and Dillon went crashing down to Earth.

As Dillon lay there sprawled out on the ground his only thoughts were that all this love stuff seemed so easy in the movies, and did he really just check out the love of his lifes Mom?


Quartermaine Mansion

Monica had badgered the truth out Alan, it had taken hours but finally when he said all there was to said, at least all he knew, Monica was left speechless.

For which Alan was thankful. He had finally found a subject that made his wife shut-up, it just happened to be Alexis Davis's love life, which half of it he wouldnt have believed if he had hadnt witnessed it all himself. Ned, Jax, Sonny and Lorenzo Alcazar, Alexis got around almost as much as Carly did. The whole whos the Daddy thing made him think of Mikey and all the time they had lost with him. But the differences more than the similarities between Alexis and Carly, Carly had run from the safety of the Quatermaines to the Mob and Alexis had run from the Mob to the Quartermaines, there was an irony there.

Monica still couldnt wrap her mind around Alexis being with Sonny and then Lorenzo Alcazar. Maybe she should schedule an appointment with Gail for her, or maybe she should schedule one for Ned because he seemed to be taking all this mess way to calmly.

Monica sighed, This is just so bizarre. The family trees in this town are getting so twisted we might all be swimming in the same Gene pool soon.

Alan shook his head and started mapping it out, Carly was a Spencer who had Mike by AJ a Quartermaine, who then married Sonny, and then Sonnys sister married AJ and then his brother Jason a Quartermaine who happened to be Mikeys uncle and Emily Jasons and AJs sister who was involved with Nikolas Cassadine who was Aunt had a daughter by Sonny Corinthos and is also the half brother of Lucky Spencer who is the cousin of Carly. It was like they could all play the six degrees of separation with three less degrees, this wasnt a tree it was a circle, everything body in this town was somehow connected to Sonny or Carly; it was like a blithe on the town came when those two hit Port Charles.

Monica shuddered, You dont think Carly and Alexis shared do you?

Alan closed his eyes and cringed, that was not an image he needed before he went to sleep; it was just sick and wrong, Alexis was injured and Carly, well Carly was Carly.


Wyndmere

Nikolas paced the study, stopping to look at the portrait of his Uncle. What would Uncle do? Everything boiled down to that. Would he allow the man whose presence in Alexiss life lead to her injury and near death to live or would he just tell Alexis she could no longer see the man.

Nikolas rubbed his eyes and looked at the paintings piercing blue eyes, why did you abandon me, I need you now. Alexis needs you. Nikolas closed his eyes and felt warm tears slip down his cheeks.

Wheres the mouth? a voice behind Nik grumbled. Nikolas turned to see Luke and Lucky had entered the study via the secret passageway.

Shes asleep Nikolas wiped the tears away. He should have told Luke to stop using the passageway, maybe have it sealed up, but it seemed to give the older man some warped pleasure in sneaking up on them; Nik doubted he would have it sealed.

Whats this about you picking a fight with Alcazar? Lucky questioned.

I hit him and told him to leave Alexis alone Nik stated firmly.

Yeah Lucky nodded his approval.

Luke laughed, But the guy didnt seem too impressed with Nickys little rage, seemed to expect it. Kinda mocked the boy.

Lucky smirked, Well the guy is a hardened criminal and Nikolas iswell Nikolas

Nik sighed warily, Alexis said he use to be a professor of History

What?!?! Luke chuckled out.

Nik laughed, Yeah, I didnt believe her at first either.

So Alky use to teach; now theres a surprise for you.

Lucky sat down, So what are you going to do about our resident injured legal eagle and her gangster professor?

Nik sighed again, placing his hands behind his back, I have no idea. I want to protect her, I just dont know if she will let me

Luke wondered if the boy knew he was standing in the same position as the portrait of Steffin, the boy may have his fathers dark looks but his mannerism were completely his Uncles. The surprising part was the boys heart; the boys heart, Luke finally realized, was all Laura. It was a first for Luke, he had just accepted Nikolas as Lauras son, man was this a week weird.

Harbor Towers

Jason slept peacefully his conscience clean, as his wife tossed and turned.

Courtney had gone behind Jasons back and set a plan in motion, only Max and Milo knew, and only they would be there when the trap sprang, both men seemed only too happy to help throw out the trash. Carly would pay dearly, Courtney would see to it.

Unbeknownst to Courtney in an apartment below her, was a dark haired blond who had the same kind of plan in mind. She had been in town for a couple of weeks now, she had the lay of the land, and Carly Corinthos stood in the way of her progression to what she wished to achieve. In fact the stupid twit nearly ruined everything; Carly was a liability that needed to be dealt with.

The blond woman sat on the bed next to her slumbering daughter, and stroked the girls dark hair. She was so like her father, same coloring, and same blue eyes. It was time to come out of hiding, Luis was no more and neither was his father, they were all free now. Free to live, free love, free to finally move on.

Docks

Well it wasnt just these two women who had it in for Carly. A red haired woman in a mink coat pulled a dark haired man in for a passionate kiss after their ship had docked.

Well, honey we have finally come home. The woman whispered to her lover. Lets go get whats yours

Yeah The man took the womans hand and they walked off the boat hand in hand. The dim lights revealing a face known to many, AJ Quartermaine was back in Port Charles and he had come back for one thing and one thing alone, his son, and this time no one would stop him; not Jason and definitely not Carly.


Lorenzos Apartment

He was alone.

Carly was gone, the kids were gone. And Alexis Alexis was injured in the hospital because he couldnt control himself. They had lost their child, because of actions he started with his involvement with Faith. When he confessed his sins she was strangely quiet, so quiet that he began to fear the worst and that was when he told her of his love for and still she remained silent. But the look in her eyes were so said, he saw warmth, compassion, and maybe even forgiveness, but what he hadnt seen was love. He had to leave the room he was drowning, he was once again confessing his love to a woman, and he wasnt even sure what she felt. With Carly it hadnt mattered, he believed he could make her love him and in a way he did. A twisted sort of love, much like there now twisted relationship, he didnt want that from Alexis, he just didnt know how to attain it.

So there he had stood outside the hospital in shock when Nikolas Cassadine made his white knight attempt at protecting Alexis, from the big bad Gangster. It was laughable, did that boy not see he was the loser here. He let Nikolas hit him, was relived that he could still feel pain in his jaw; if he still felt pain then he was still alive.

Lorenzo tossed back a shot of single malt whiskey wincing at the slight tenderness in his cheek. He would have let the boy beat him black and blue, he deserved it. The woman he loved was injured, their unborn child dead, her daughter possible psychologically scarred for life and he could have stopped it all just by telling Faith no.

Women They were his and his brothers downfall. Brenda, Faith, Carly, Sophie and Alexis all deadly in the way they had slipped in under their armors. And they always left you broken. Brenda had broken Luis but Alexis had finished the job, he wondered if Alexis would be his finish as well. Perhaps he would even deserve it.

General Hospital

Zander stood looking out the window, Liz had fallen asleep in the corner chair, and Alexis was resting. Alexiss eyes were closed and the breathing was even, but Zander knew she wasnt asleep, just infinitely tired. It was 2:00 am in the morning; nearly twenty-four hours since the incident. Almost a day since Alexis was shot; and little Kristinas world was blown apart. Just hours before a day in the world without Sonny Corinthos.

Sonny. Zander turned to look at Alexis and wondered if her mind rested on their once friend and her once lover. When Zander first met him, Sonny seemed larger than life, but the more he knew the less he liked, until the man he knew didnt exist; and Zander didnt know which one had changed, him or Sonny. Then everything happened with Carly, then Emily and Nikolas, and finally that night with Liz; it was all a blur.

He looked back and remembered how he turned from Alexis, first time when he was spending time with Carly and again after Emily, but Alexis never stepped away from him. She had left messages and sent care packages; mostly microwavable popcorn and really expensive shaving stuff and one a sweater vest which was odd, must have been an impulse by for her; Alexis was an impulse buyer. He remembered going grocery shopping with her and her throwing things in the cart that werent on the list, he could almost her say lets try this, It looks good on the box, she picked out some many kinds of chips and fruit telling him that he was a growing boy and needed to eat, she was just so excited that he couldnt help but be too. He told Emily that he wished he had a Mom like Alexis. If he had maybe he wouldnt be so screwed up now.

She had forgave him so easily, almost like he never said hurtful things, things he wished he could take back now, actions he wished he never committed, but she forgave him and asked for his forgiveness as well. He tired to think of one thing she had done to him that needed forgiven and couldnt think of anything she hadnt done out of love. Time had melted away when she said I am so happy my boy is back, I have missed you and with those words he had broken down and cried. He wept for the first time in what seemed in forever, and when the floodgate opened he told her everything; everything he did, everything he wanted and everything he needed, and she had promised to help and be there. But she had always been there, and Liz and stood behind him patting his back the whole time.

He and Liz had stood outside the room as all the other visitor and come and gone through Alexiss room. Lila, Dillon, Jax, Luke, Lucky, Monica, Alan, and Justus it was like the whole town including his Dad had paraded through her room. It had been Grand Central Station until the night nurse but an end too it. He couldnt bear to leave and Liz had refused to leave him.

He looked at the elfin dark haired girl who slept snoring lightly slouched over in uncomfortable hospital recliner, he hands resting on her protruding belly. Right then and there, Lizzie Webber took his breathe away.

Zander heard a soft voice mummer to him, Its okay to love, Zander. And its even better when you allow yourself to be loved back

He nodded his head and turned to stare into soulful brown eyes. He couldnt speak, but when she smiled at him he couldnt help but smile back. In that moment everything had faded away, all the hurt and pain gone. He had opened Pandoras Box and all the bad things had escaped but one thing remained and that was hope.

Khyricat- Chapter 29 is giving me some problems but it should be up by Sunday <keeping fingers cross that I don't delete it again and start over>.

JustMe- I love Zexis and now that Sam has my Zander's story it makes me want to write him more. And now since True on SZ was talking about old Zexis scenes and I had to go watch mine- I miss Z-Man. Glad you found humor in Alan trying to figure out the cirle of genes in PC~~~ Wasn't sure if it was as funny on paper as it was in my head, I pictured Moncia walking around talking and Alan not listening to her but to his inner conversation more. And yes mystery lady is Sophie...And be patient about Carly she'll get hers.

Wildchild~~~ Wasn't really thinking about Skye as his companion but I like the idea I might use that. As for Robin~ I started this story over two years ago and Robin wasn't even a thought but yeah Robin needs to smack Carly down too (but not in this story I have set up a Journey I like and if I bring back Robin I will want to place her with Jason and would have to rethink my whole ending).
