Chapter 5
She ran and ran until she felt herself being snatched up from behind by two very powerful arms. When she turned around to see who was holding her back she saw his face a face she saw so many times in her dreams.
He pulled her close to him her face inches away from his own. "Let go of me!" She screamed. The lighting flashed followed by loud thunder as she struggled to break free of his grasp. Again she screamed. "Let me go!"
"You know I cannot do that." He yelled in order to be heard above the storm.
"Why, why would you say such horrible things about me? I was not among those who betrayed you. I never betrayed you. All I ever did was love you, and you said those things anyway. How can I ever face anyone in that room again? How can I ever look at myself in the mirror again? Let me go!"
"I did not say horrible things about you." He protested, "I would never say anything against you."
"But you did, you shouted to the world that I was a whore. That I walked around in rags. That I was trash" She began to sob.
He pulled her into him "NO. No you were a child everyone in that room knows that, Do you think them so foolish. Most of them have children of their own, younger or close to the same age you were." He held her possessively. "Please do not fight me anymore." He begged.
They were both so intensely wrapped up in each other in the events that had taken place that evening they didn't realize they were not alone. Stefan, Luke, Alexis, Ned, Nicholas and Helena had ran out after them along with all of Stavros' security. The docks started to creak as the water splashed above the walkway the rain was coming down harder and harder with each passing moment. The launch captain ran up to them. "Sir I must insist you all return inside. Take shelter it is no longer safe out here."
Stavros looked around and caught a glimpse of the people gathered. Bobbie pulled back and cried "No I cannot go back there. I can't face them. I won't."
Stefan stepped forward and said softly, "You do not have to Barbara, We will return to Whyndemere. I will tell the staff to inform Katherine that hey must remain indoors. They will be safe where they are. The barn is secure. They have everything they need to insure their comfort.
With that Stavros held onto Bobbie and led the small-assembled group to Whyndemere.

Inside the barn the quiet stillness had turned to chatter. Oblivious to the pain of the lives that were destroyed around her Katherine wept. "Tell me Edward, How could that monster show up here and ruin my engagement party? What was he thinking?"
Monica who after seeing the horror on her best friends face just moments earlier and didn't give a damn about Katherine's party any longer snapped back loud enough for everyone to hear. "How could you be so selfish? Did you even see the look on Bobbie's face? What about Nicholas? His world was just ripped apart. And Alexis, she just recalled the murder of her mother that took place right in front of her when she was a child. Nobody here that has half a conscious or a heart gives a damn about some stupid ball. And by the looks on the faces of the people he accused and their reactions I would say he was more a victim than a monster."
Monica snatched up her purse and headed for the door. "Where are you going?" Katherine shouted.
"Up to Whyndemere to check on my best friend." She seethed
"But we were told to sit tight?" Katherine yelled.
"Well you have fun with that. I dare you to try and stop me." Monica said
"Wait, Monica, I'm coming with you." Felicia said, "She's my best friend to. Tom I have to make sure she's ok. I'll be back." She gave Tom a quick peck on the cheek and the two ladies walked out of the barn towards Whyndemere.
"I hate them. Both of them.' Katherine said as she watched Monica and Felicia leave. "And you." She turned to Laura who was standing in the corner letting Audrey and Amy console her. "How could you? You slept with Stefan and Mikkos. You let Nicholas believe he was the son of a man who never even had sex with you. You come here tonight in all your glory walking through the door like you own the world. How could you? Tell me did you even bother telling Bobbie you and Stefan were lovers before she married him? Or during their marriage? Lord knows you weren't going to tell me."
"I do not answer to you. You of all people. Look at you, who do you look like Katherine. You look like me. You are dressed the same way I was dressed at my engagement ball to Stavros. Your hair is the same your make-up is the same. Stefan has turned you into me." Laura taunted.
Before Laura even knew what was happening Katherine's hand was making contact across her face.
Mac and Tom being the closest grabbed Katherine and separated the ladies.
"This is not the time or place. There has been more than enough turmoil tonight." Audrey said in a calm and soothing voice. "Oh Tom I hope Bobbie is ok. She was so pale when she left here."
Knowing his parents thought of Bobbie like a daughter Tom patted her hand. "Bobbie is stronger than most people give her credit for. She has Monica and Felicia with her now. I am sure she is fine."

"I hope my mom is ok. I know she said she had some things to do but it is getting awfully late. And the storm is getting bad." Carly said to Jason as he set across from her filling her in on the events she missed in Port Charles while she was locked away.
"I'm sure she's fine. You know Carly when you went into Ferncliff you never called Bobbie mom." Jason questioned.
"Yea, well when I went to Ferncliff I never thought Bobbie would be the one to come visit me everyday. Even when she looked exhausted from a double shift in surgery or between shifts on a day she had a split. She was always there. She became my constant. You know like you would expect a mom to be. She should be home by now." Carly worried.
"Hey Eore? Have you heard from Bobbie? Carly is really getting worried here." Jason tossed over his shoulder.
"My name is Maliki. Yes while you and Miss Carly were deep in conversation I checked on her she is tied up in the storm and has decided to seek shelter. I explained to her that you were here with Carly so she would not worry about her daughter. She will return soon."
"Great thanks. Maliki," Jason grinned and Maliki nodded.

As they stood in the entrance hall of Whyndemere, Mrs. Landsbury rushed in. "Oh my, let me get you all some towels. There is a fire in the conservatory I will have the staff find dry clothing." Mrs. Landsbury looked up at the dark man for the first time. In shock she whispered. "Master Stavros."
"Yes, Mrs. Landsbury, I am home." He replied. "Please, have the staff prepare accommodations for all our guest. I believe it is going to be a long night."
"Of course sir." She bowed and walked away.
As the small-assembled group prepared to go to the conservatory the doors flew open again and along with a gust of wind in stepped Monica and Felicia.
The group looked at them in surprise. "I thought I gave instructions to stay in the barn." Stefan said.
"Yea, well last time I checked, You were not the boss of me." Felicia hissed. "You think we were going to sit in a barn while our best friend is stuck in this mausoleum with the likes of all of you? No offense Nicholas and Ned."
"None taken." Ned said trying to lighten the mood. While he held onto a shivering Alexis.
"Five Cassadine's and Two Spencer's." Monica added, "We figured we'd even the odds."
Stavros looked on amused "such loyalty he thought." But was not surprised he knew once someone REALLY got to know Bobbie who she was and what she believed in they like him would move heaven and earth for her. He knew she had many friends and acquaintances but opened her true self to only a selected few. He considered himself blessed to be amongst them. At least he hoped he was still amongst them.
"What Ms. Jones? Do you honestly believe I would bring Barbara up here to do her harm?" Stefan asked snobbishly.
"Is water wet?" She countered. "You listen to me and you listen well Stefan Cassadine. I do not give a rats behind who you are and how much money or power you have I will rip your bloody heart out and serve it to my family for dinner before I let you hurt her again. And if you think for one minute I am kidding, know this there is not a person in this room I will not send to straight to hell to prove to you how serious I am." With that Felicia walked over to Bobbie who was pale and soaking wet and put her arms around her.
"Sir the staff has prepared rooms in the east wing, and dry clothing as well." Mrs. Landsbury said as she walked back into the entrance hall.
"Thank you. I will handle it from here." Stefan replied. "We can finish what has been started once everyone is dry. And warm." He continued. Noticing that everyone has nodded in agreement except Alexis and Bobbie who were both pale and shivering. He knew Alexis was being held to her feet by Ned and would not appreciate the interference he would offer, so he focused on Bobbie, who had stepped away from Stavros and Felicia, He spoke to her softly. "Come Barbara, All will be cleared up shortly. Let me take you to the master suite. You can stay there."
"OVER MY DEAD BODY." Stavros shouted.
"That can be arranged, again." Luke said.
"ENOUGH" Alexis Yelled loud so loud it echoed through the house. It was as if she found herself again she still had the memory of her mother's murder in her head but she was back in control strong and steady. "I will take Bobbie, Monica and Felecia to my suite we will dry off and be back down shortly." With that all four women left.
"Uncle." Nicholas said as he walked up to Stavros "I will show you and Ned where you can Dry off and change." They both nodded and followed Nicholas.
"Well I suppose that leaves myself with the two of you." Stefan said disgusted with the remaining two. "You each have rooms waiting for you in the east wing, I would offer to show them to you myself but I figure there is no need, each of you have broken into here enough times I am sure you know the way." And Stefan Left as well.
Stavros walked into Stefan's study and spied his brother sitting behind the desk. "Ah, Stefan alone at last. It seems we have some catching up to do." I am going to need an accounting of all family assets that have been gained or lost while I was away, as well an update on everyone of importance."
"I have already begun the process." He responded. I assume you plan on doing something about an heir?"
"You still know me very well little brother. It is the custom of our family that the firstborn son, of the firstborn son shall inherit. And I will not go against custom." Stavros smiled in such a way that sent chills down Stefan's back.
"Is that right? Tell me Stavros, Is it all customs you plan on honoring? Or only the one's that fit your agenda?" Know it was Stefan's turn to smile.
"I will honor all customs. If you have something to say, Stefan, Say it."
"If it is true you are planning on honoring all Cassadine customs than you are still married to Laura." Stefan again challenged
"Did you forget? My marriage to Laura was never consummated. And you know it. She all but admitted it. Which means it is not legal in the eyes of the law as well as the church we are not man and wife." Stavros added.
"However my marriage to Barbara was consummated. Many times over." He grinned
In a flash Stavros was over Stefan's desk holding him by the lapels of his jacket. "I will kill you before I let you touch her again." Stavros shoved Stefan back and continued. "You have always wanted what was mine. There could be two of the same toys and you would want the one that was mine. I saw the look on your face when I called Laura's name tonight before you knew I never touched or wanted to touch her. The way your fiancé was made up to look exactly like her. And the change in your eyes when you found out the truth." Stavros went on. "You were never in love with Laura you were obsessed with her. You wanted her only because she was mine. It is all the same. The money, the power, the title, the woman, you want them because they belong to me.
Stefan turned around but Stavros was not finished. "Do not walk away from me." And with that Stefan turned back. Stavros went on. "You had her. The one thing in this world I put above all others, and she belonged to you. You held her in the palm of your hand. Knowing Bobbie the way I do I imagine a part of her even loved you at some point. But you held her and that love in contempt. And now. NOW you want to stand there and claim her as Your wife. I will not have it."
Upstairs the four ladies had dried and changed and were gathered on the massive four-poster bed Alexis had in her suite. "Alexis, I am so sorry about your mother. Words could never say. I know what it is like to watch your mother die and feel so helpless. But I couldn't even imagine. I am so sorry."
"Thank you Bobbie. I'm sorry too. I don't even know where to start. It seems our families have been enter twined longer than I thought." Alexis sighed and continued, "You know what that means don't you?" She looked at her ex-sister-in-law and old friend, who shook her head no. "That means Carly is the child that Romeo and Juliet never had. I mean after all if we are not the Montagues and the Capulets than who are." She laughed to try and lighten the mood.
But Bobbie gasped and jumped off the bed. "Oh my god Carly." And before anyone knew what was happening she ran out the door of the bedroom. And down the marble stairs yelling "SC! Um I mean STAVROS, Stavros where are you?" Stavros and Stefan heard her yells and both men ran to her. She ran straight into Stavros' arms. "Our daughter." She gasped. "Our daughter, she shot him. He kidnapped our grandson and she shot him. They locked her up in an institution. I promised her I would get her out."
"Bobbie calm." Stavros was interrupted before he could finish.
"I have a plan." She said.
"Bobbie" He tried again.
"I have everything worked out. Almost. I know how I am breaking her out and how to get Michael. I know how we are getting out of town. But I don't have a place to take her. Your island, She would be safe on your island. No one could touch her. There are no policing laws and your guards could keep anyone from getting to Michael." Bobbie rambled on.
Stavros cupped her face with both of his hands and whispered. "Listen to me. Please." When he saw he finally had her attention he continued. "Caroline is safe. She is at your home, along with Michael and Mr. Morgan awaiting your return. I insured her release, along with sole custody of our grandson. I spoke to my most trusted man before my arrival and he assured me everything went as planned."
She looked at him stunned. "How? Legal custody? You mean we do not have to run? How?"
He smiled softly, "It matters not. The only thing that matters is she is safe and free, and we will all be together soon."
"I would not count on that Stavros." They turned around and saw Helena standing there with a gun in her hand. They also noticed the other guests came down after hearing Bobbie yelling for Stavros.
"I have not sacrificed my whole life to watch you throw yours away on a common whore." She seethed.
"You sacrificed nothing." He told her. You drugged me, and locked me away."
"I did what I had to do to protect you. I had no intention of keeping you locked away forever my darling." She said
"You." She said as she pointed to Bobbie. "Step away from him." Stavros tried to stop her from listening but Bobbie snatched her hand away to fast and did what she was told. Helena pointed the gun at Bobbie. "You are the reason for the war between our families. It was when Stavros went to Luke giving him money to take care of you, his common whore, that this feud erupted."
"No." Stavros said. "She was not my whore. I loved her. I still love her. A whore is a woman you pay to sleep with mother, not the woman you give your soul to. The way my Father gave his soul to Kristen, I have given mine to Bobbie." Stavros tried to taunt her, to draw the gun in his direction away from Bobbie.
"And like your fathers whore before her. Your whore will die as well." With that Helena pulled the trigger. Stavros had been inching his way closer to Bobbie and when he saw his mother's finger move he jumped in front of her, shielding her. Luke and Stefan had raced to Helena and had the gun out of her hand and her pinned to the ground. Monica ran over to where a bloody Stavros lay. She checked his breathing and pulse. "Nothing. She said. Bobbie we need to do CPR. Monica pushed his chest in while Bobbie forced breaths into his mouth. They continued this for over twenty minutes when Monica finally said. "We lost him. It's to late." She dropped her arms off his chest and looked across his lifeless body at her friend who was shacking her head no, still breathing into his mouth. "Bobbie, he's gone. We tried our best, it isn't going to work." A tear rolled down her cheek.
"No." Bobbie whispered. "Mon amour, Mon âme." She said quietly as she stroked his cheek.
The storm went on for several more hours. Luke, Felecia, Monica, Nicholas, and Alexis all took turns trying to reach her. But all she would do was stare into space rocking back and forth whispering. "My soul, My soul."
The police came in and took statements. Helena was taken away. With all the chaos that was happening it was easy for him to take her and slip into one of the secret passageways. Away from Port Charles.
I won't."
