(Author's Caveat) I don't know where Kevin/Ryan were left on the spinoff 'Port Charles' so any of that has been ignored.)

It had been a quiet six years….he had chosen solitude.

The people who were afraid of the madman Ryan Chamberlain believed he had died in a freak fire in an amusement park where they tracked him to in 1995.

Somehow that fire had quieted the need for destructive behavior for quite some time.

He changed his name, volunteered as an aide in a pediatric clinic…..and lived profoundly alone. He had come to understand this much….that when he interacted with grown people too much, he began to have expectation….and when that expectation was unmet life got….complicated.

The only one he missed, the only one he still woke up thinking about. When tears wouldn't stop coming out of those dark eyes and mar the still handsome face….…was the man who had said he loved him…the man who had his face.

Kevin. The brother who had disappeared from his life as surely as sanity had.

He still wished and pined for a brother….from time to time.

He was crocheting in his apartment, alone one evening when the doorbell rang.

"Yes?" In that mild voice that could change to fury in an instant.

"Am I speaking with Castor Jones?" He was facing a tall bearded fellow with an open smile, dark haired and confident. No, scratch that….Overconfident…Worse still, annoying.

Ryan smiled back without answering "And who am I speaking with….?"

"Well, the world knows me as Victor Anthony.

But, I'm really your cousin, Mr. Chamberlain.

My name is Stavros Cassadine."

"Really." I had heard you were-"

"Dead?"

"I was about to say freeze-dried. You made the Port Charles newspaper you know…"

"Still keeping track after all these years? That's a tad obsessive, don't you think? I've moved on. To a larger city, bigger investments…..and by the way, who are you to quibble about someone who is not quite as dead as they seem?

I have work for you Mr. Chamberlain…paying work, quiet work, productive work.

You'll see very few people. Have no wants. And, at the end of it…as long as our choices are not at cross purposes….you'll have serious decision making power.
